Position Overview

EGM Automotive is a high-performing, family-owned repair shop in Elk Grove Village, IL with a strong and consistent vehicle flow of approximately 350–400 vehicles per month.

We are expanding our diagnostic capability and are seeking an experienced Automotive Diagnostic Technician who specializes in advanced troubleshooting, drivability concerns, and complex electrical systems.

This role is designed for a top-level technician who wants steady high-quality diagnostic work in a structured, high-volume environment.

Responsibilities

• Advanced diagnostics and drivability troubleshooting
• Electrical system diagnosis and repair
• Complex mechanical fault isolation
• Accurate repair planning and execution
• Collaboration with service advisors and production team
• Ensuring high-quality, first-time repair completion

Requirements

• Strong diagnostic and electrical experience required
• 7+ years automotive repair experience preferred
• A-level technician background preferred
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work in a structured, high-volume shop environment
• Team-oriented and dependable

Entry-level or general maintenance-only technicians are not a fit for this role.
